Keith Farquhar / Acting Workshops

Keith Farquhar is an internationally active actor and acting coach, renowned for successfully guiding actors through high-level casting processes, including for major productions such as Peaky Blinders. His coaching philosophy synthesizes the methodologies of seminal practitioners including Sanford Meisner, Ivana Chubbuck, Keith Johnstone, and David Mamet, and is grounded in his fundamental conviction that all acting is, at its essence, an act of improvisation. He pursued an in-depth study of the Chubbuck Technique over six years with Michael Monks and is a certified teacher of the Meisner Technique, having been trained by Larry Silverberg.
He brings a wealth of professional acting experience from both stage and screen to his pedagogical work. He is currently set to appear in Arnaud Desplechin’s forthcoming film Deux Pianos as well as in the AMC series Anne Rice’s The Talamasca. His recent credits include the Netflix series Les 7 vies de Léa, the feature film Reprise en Main, and an international theatre tour through Tunisia with a play by Yasmina Reza.
Keith teaches acting at the 3iS Film School in Lyon and leads courses in improvisation and public speaking at Lyon 3 University. He previously served for ten years as Head of Theatre at the Atre École de Théâtre. His keen eye for staging and direction was further refined through his work as an assistant to legendary directors such as Peter Stein, Yoshi Oida, and Declan Donnellan at the Opéra de Lyon. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Human Psychology, a French state-recognized acting diploma, and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
